3 Jikyou Kannon

This statue depicts a practitioner sitting on a rock and receiving instructions with a sutra in his right hand. The white marble is likened to rain clouds, the light blue stone is likened to rain, and the lava from Mt. Asama is foggy white clouds, depicting a marvelous aesthetic. The term “jikyou” refers to deeply believing in the sutras and always remembering to recite them. By association, the term also means having deep faith in Buddhism. It is said that the sutras contain all of the sermons of the Tathagata. This Kannon makes learning more enjoyable, enriches your life, and aids you in academic activities and helps you achieve success in schooling.
