22 Youe Kannon

The name of this Kannon refers to the Jabao tribe from the Deccan Plateau in central India. It is said that the Jabao tribe was greatly feared in ancient India.

The sutras state that this Kannon extinguishes evil diseases and is known for conferring benefits in terms of protecting families, communities, and even rulers from various evils. Holding a pomegranate, the Youe Kannon grants blessings against infectious diseases and plagues.
